For those interested in coaching in the Newberg Youth Football program for the 2022 season, please have all Newberg Youth Football coaching applications turned in by August 1. Link below:
All Newberg Youth Football tackle football coaches must complete the items listed below:
USA Football - Tackle Football Level 1 Certification
Click link below to complete USA Football Tackle Football Level 1 Cert:
- USA Football Cert
- Click on "Get Certified"
- Select Game Type
- Type in promo code: NEWBERGYF22
- Click "Update Price"
- Click "Sign Up For Course!"
- Start certification (the full Youth Coach Certification is currently a 3-hour course and will cover the following topics: health and safety, abuse prevention, foundations of transformational coaching, foundations of quality coaching and principles of contact).
- Turn in USA Football Coach Certification Certificate (click link above) into NYF Registrar Nicole Lewelling at nlewelling@cprdnewberg.org. This certification needs to be completed yearly (if coaches took certification last year, they will need to recertify only - recertification takes 30-90 minutes). Abuse Training course has been added to this online certification course so no need to take separate test.

TVYFL Coach Registration
First Aid/CPR Certification
The head coach and two assistant coaches from each team need to be First Aid and CPR Certified. This certification is typically good for 2 years. Already First Aid and/or CPR certified? Provide a copy of current certification(s) to Nicole Lewelling, NYF Registrar. Not certified and are interested in getting certified? Several different websites offer a 2-year certification:
Please pay for the training and provide a receipt for reimbursement. Or contact Nicole Lewelling at nlewelling@cprdnewberg.org to sign up for CPRD-sponsored CPR/First-Aid classes, typically held the third Saturday of each month at the Aquatic Center.
Please download the TVYFL App from the app store! Sign up to receive TVYFL season info through the app and register as a coach.

CPR/First Aid Certification:

Concussion Training:

- Training takes 15-20 minutes. Once there, scroll to the bottom of the page and click on crash course concussion training(coach) link and go through the process of registration.
- Once training/testing is complete, print out certificate and email to Newberg Youth Football Registrar Nicole Lewelling at nlewelling@cprdnewberg.org (certs are placed in team books).
- Head Coaches and Assistants do not need to complete concussion testing because Brain 101 course is part of USA Heads Up Football certification and/or re-certification.
