Newberg Youth Football Coaching Applications

For those interested in coaching in the Newberg Youth Football program for the 2019 season, please have all Newberg Youth Football coaching applications turned in by August 1.   Link below:

 

 

TVYFL coaching clinics for all first/second year head coaches and Rookie Tackle coaches will take place on the following dates:

  • Sunday, July 14, Lewis and Clark Pamplin Center.  Time:  2:30 - 4:30 pm.
  • Sunday, July 28, Beaverton High School.  Time:  1:00 - 4:00 pm.
  • Sunday,  August 4, TBD

All Newberg Youth Football coaches must complete the items listed below:

CPRD Coach Form

  • Completed forms can be turned in/emailed to Julie Petersen at jpetersen@cprdnewberg.org or Jon Tromblay (CPRD Sports Coordinator) at jtromblay@cprdnewberg.org.

USA Football Heads Up Certification Link

  • Turn in USA Football Heads Up Certificate (above) into NYF Registrar, Nicole Mauter @ newbergregistrar@gmail.com.  This certification needs to be completed yearly.
  • Cost for this certification is $10.  Please sent receipt for this course to Julie Petersen at jpetersen@cprdnewberg.org.

TVYFL Coach Registration Link

  • Register as a TVYFL (link above) coach on website.  Nothing needed to turn into Newberg Registrar Nicole Mauter.

Abuse Training

  • Cost for Abuse Training is $10.  Please register, pay and send receipt for course to Julie Petersen at jpetersen@cprdnewberg.org.

FIRST AID & CPR:

Two coaches from each team need to be First Aid and CPR Certified. This certification is typically good for 2 years. Already First Aid and/or CPR certified?   Provide a copy of current certification(s).   Not certified and are interested in getting certified?   Several different websites offer a 2-year certification: 

 Please pay for the training and provide a receipt for reimbursement.  Or contact Julie Petersen at jpetersen@cprdnewberg.org to sign up for CPRD-sponsored CPR/First-Aid classes, typically held the third Saturday of each month at the Aquatic Center.

Rookie Tackle Rules Certification

  • Online training for Rookie Tackle (grades 3/4) is now available!  This free course goes hand in hand with youth tackle certification and is required to coach a Rookie Tackle team for the Newberg Youth Football program.  The course is 45 minutes long, click link below:

Please download the TVYFL App from the app store!  Sign up to receive TVYFL season info through the app and register as a coach.

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS FOR NEWBERG YOUTH  FOOTBALL SAFETY COACHES ONLY:

All Safety Coaches:

  • Must complete concussion training.
  • Click on link:   http://brain101.orcasinc.com/4000/.
  • Training takes 15-20 minutes. Once there, click on the register link and go through the process of registration.
  • Once training/testing is complete, print out certificate and email to Newberg Youth Football Registrar Nicole Mauter at newbergregistrar@gmail.com (certs are placed in team books).
  • Head Coaches and Assistants do not need to complete concussion testing because Brain 101 course is part of USA Heads Up Football certification and/or re-certification.
