Welcome to the 2018 Newberg Youth Football season, we are looking forward to a great year!
The Newberg Youth Football mission is to develop players into outstanding student athletes while emphasizing strong fundamentals, good sportsmanship and team camaraderie.
Newberg Youth Football is a proud member of the Tualatin Valley Youth Football League.
Tackle football games will be played on Saturdays at several location area schools. The game schedule, once released by the Tualatin Valley Youth Football League in late August, will be posted on the TVYFL and Newberg Youth Football websites. Homes games for the NYF program will be held at Newberg High School, 2400 Douglas Avenue. Home game times at NHS will be anywhere from 10 am to 6 pm on Saturdays beginning September 8, 2018. The last game of the regular season will take place Saturday, October 27, with the potential of future games for those teams that make the playoffs.
Registration for the 2018 tackle football season opens Saturday, April 1. See box above to register players!
Once registered on the Newberg Youth Football website, each player should receive a receipt email that includes a Player Contract and Medical Release form. Please bring those forms to gear distribution:
The Medical Release Contract must be signed by a physician and is the ONLY MEDICAL DOCUMENT ACCEPTED BY NYF/TVYFL FOR LEAGUE PARTICIPATION. Typically, sports physicals are good for 2 years (you may just need to drop off physical form and have them sign) but please check with your doctor for verification. The Medical Release form must be signed by a physician each year.
All final paperwork must be completed, signed and fees paid to be issued gear/equipment.
Players will be issued football pants, practice jersey, helmet and shoulder pads at gear distribution. Nike game jerseys will be distributed once players are placed on a team. Players that prefer to use personal equipment (helmet, shoulder pads or pants) must bring equipment at time of gear handout for inspection before player will be allowed to use equipment. Equipment purchased after gear distribution must be inspected by Newberg Youth Football prior to use.
Newberg Youth Football would like to thank Wilson Orthodontics for their support!

Official league practices begin (TBD) from 5:30 - 7:45 pm. The first 5 practices (10 hours) are non-contact for all players. Once a player has accumulated 10 hours of practice time, they are allowed to put on pads. Please have players wear shorts, practice jersey and football cleats, if possible. Bring water, helmet and mouth guard. All players will practice at NHS JV baseball field until August 13, when the 3/4 and 5/6 teams will begin practicing at the Darnell Wright Center and the JV and Varsity remain at the NHS JV field. After school begins, teams will practice 3 days a week (6 hours); practice days/times determined by youth coaches.
Our pre-season football jamboree will be held Saturday, August 25, at (TBD). More info to come regarding jamboree. Pictures will be taken by TSS Photography at the jamboree. Each teams will be scheduled a picture time, communicated to players by coaches once teams are drafted. Pictures will be taken BEFORE scheduled games at the jamboree on August 25. Picture packets and online ordering will be on the Newberg Youth Football website as soon as teams are drafted. Pictures taken at the jamboree will also be used for the team books so it's essential each player have their picture taken at the jamboree.
Teams will be announced shortly after the draft on August 10, 2018. Coaches only at the draft.
All Newberg Youth Football players are required to take a baseline concussion test administered by George Fox University professor Chris Koch. Testing involves the player taking an online test (45 minutes) in the NHS computer lab on the following dates:

Registration Incentive Program!!!
Newberg Youth Football is excited to offer the incentive program once again this season to help with the cost of registration. We have teamed up with a local Tillamook representative to offer a pepperoni sales opportunity.
How does it work?
• Parent purchases a case of 288 Pepperoni sticks for $144. Player sells case for a total profit of $288. Leaving net profit of $144 to go towards the players fees for this upcoming season.
*All sticks must be sold at $ 1.00 apiece. You are not able to set your own pricing.
*1 case minimum
***All orders must go through our fundraising coordinators Blake and Tiffany Woody at email@example.com
*We are encouraging you to donate any money that your player raises over and above the cost of their registration fee into our football scholarship fund to help those families who are not able to afford the full price of registration.
Incentive ends on June 5th 2018
