*Info as of 4/1/21:
Thank you for your patience as we navigate youth sport activities during the COVID-19 pandemic! Please find below information regarding the 2021 youth football season:
Welcome to the 2021 NYF season, we are looking forward to a great year! The Newberg Youth Football mission is to develop players into outstanding student athletes while emphasizing strong fundamentals, good sportsmanship and team camaraderie. NYF is a proud member of the Tualatin Valley Youth Football League and is run through Chehalem Park and Recreation District.
Tackle football games will be played on Saturdays at several location area schools. The game schedule, once released by the Tualatin Valley Youth Football League in late August, will be posted on the TVYFL and Newberg Youth Football websites. Homes games for the NYF program will be held at Newberg High School, 2400 Douglas Avenue. Home game times at NHS will be anywhere from 10 am to 6 pm on Saturdays beginning September 11, 2021. The last game of the regular season will take place Saturday, October 30, with the potential of future games for those teams that make the playoffs.
Registration for the 2021 tackle football season opens April 1. See box above to register players!
Once registered on the Newberg Youth Football website, each player should receive a receipt email that includes an OSAA Medical Release form (click here to download form!). Please bring Medical Form to gear distribution:
The Medical Release Contract must be signed by a physician and is the ONLY MEDICAL DOCUMENT ACCEPTED BY NYF/TVYFL FOR LEAGUE PARTICIPATION. Typically, sports physicals are good for 2 years (you may just need to drop off physical form and have them sign) but please check with your doctor for verification. The Medical Release form must be signed by a physician each year.
All final paperwork must be completed, signed and fees paid to be issued gear/equipment.
Players will be issued football pants, practice jersey, helmet and shoulder pads at gear distribution. Nike game jerseys will be distributed once players are placed on a team. Players that prefer to use personal equipment (helmet, shoulder pads or pants) must bring equipment at time of gear handout for inspection before player will be allowed to use equipment. Equipment purchased after gear distribution must be inspected by Newberg Youth Football prior to use.
Newberg Youth Football would like to thank Wilson Orthodontics for their support!

Official league practices begin Monday, August 19, 5:30 - 7:45 pm. The first 5 practices (10 hours) are non-contact for all players. Once a player has accumulated 10 hours of practice time they are allowed to put on pads. Please have players bring wear shorts, practice jersey and football cleats, if possible. Bring water, helmet and mouth guard. After school begins, teams will practice 3 days a week (6 hours); practice days/times determined by youth coaches.
Teams will be announced shortly after the draft on TBD, 2021. Coaches only at the draft.
Seventh and eighth grade players are required to take a baseline concussion test administered by George Fox University professor Chris Koch. Testing involves the player taking an online test (45 minutes) in the NHS computer lab on the following dates:
Jamboree will take place Saturday, August 28, at TBD. More info from League will follow once teams are selected.
Please note: team and individual pictures will be taken by TSS Photography before scheduled games at the jamboree. Individual pictures will be used for team books so it's essential each player have a picture taken at that time. Team books are used at weigh-in's before each game.
Online picture ordering will be available on the Newberg Youth Football website soon!
