Newberg Youth Football joins the TVYFL
New for 2008!
Newberg Youth Football has the opportunity for our 5th / 6th, 7th, and 8th grade football teams to play opponents outside of Newberg (TVYFL League). Currently, the 3rd / 4th grade teams will play within the CPRD program (Newberg League), which existed last year, and they will play each other as well as teams from Woodburn and McMinnville.
There will some exciting changes and challenges in store for the 2008 season:
3/4 Teams:
- Plays in Newberg league
- Practice and play games on weeknights
- Games will be played against Newberg / Woodburn.
5/6 Teams: will have two options:
- Play in the Newberg League....this will be like last year with a few changes.
- TVYFL- this is a traveling league with some home games which will be played at the High School or on the Chehalem Valley Football / Soccer Field. Practices are during the week and games on Saturday. Fieldgoals are kicked etc. See TVYFL rules for more information. High level of commitment required from both parents and players. Practice will be 10 hours a week starting first of August.

Newberg Youth Football is a tackle football program for children in the third through eighth grades residing in the Newberg High School area of Newberg and Dundee, Oregon. We are a member of the Tualatin Valley Youth Football League.

Our mission is to provide a safe and enjoyable environment for Newberg area youth to learn the fundamentals of tackle football. We want to develop our players into outstanding student athletes while emphasizing good sportsmanship and good fundamentals.
Coach Carlson, NHS Football Coach and his staff, along with NHS Athletic Director Tim Burke will be assisting us in putting together a youth program that will help Newberg be competitive at the High School level.
